Dear TruBit Virtual Card user:
After 10 failed or declined purchase attempts, your TruBit Virtual Card will be automatically canceled to protect your funds and can no longer be used.
Additionally, if your TruBit Virtual Card is inactive and there are 3 failed attempts, the card will also be canceled and can no longer be used.
In both cases, you can request a new virtual card through your app. Please note that you can request a certain number of virtual card replacements for free. Beyond that, additional fees may apply. We recommend reading this article for more information: How many times can I replace the TruBit Virtual Card and TruBit Physical Card? | Help Center.
Common Reasons for Rejected Transactions
Below, we list the most common reasons that can cause rejections or problems when making purchases with your TruBit Card, along with some comments and suggestions to keep in mind:
Insufficient Funds
Card Expiration
Incorrect PIN
Fraud Detection
Incorrect CVV
Inactive Card
Monthly Purchase Limit Reached
Transaction Not Allowed
1.- Insufficient Funds:
When registering your TruBit Card to pay for monthly subscriptions, we recommend that you always maintain a balance in your account to avoid rejections.
When having Tokens as a form of payment, due to fluctuations in exchange rates, we recommend that you maintain an available balance 5% greater than the amount you wish to purchase.
To find out how we calculate your available balance when you pay with tokens, log into your app, go to the "Card" section and press the button with the question mark next to "Available" at the top. Depending on the tokens you have activated in your Payment Priority, your balance available to spend is made up of:
Availability of % use by asset type
90.00% of your BTC assets
90.00% of your ETH assets
90.00% of your XRP assets
90.00% of your ENO assets
100.00% of your USDC assets
100.00% of your MMXN assets
100.00% of your ARS assets
100.00% of your NARS assets
100.00% of your USDT assets
If you have purchases or withdrawals that are still pending execution, that amount will not count as available balance for your purchases until the pending transfer is completed.
2.- Card Expiration:
Verify that the expiration date of your card is correctly entered on the website or platform where you are making your purchase.
3.- Incorrect PIN:
If you forgot the PIN for your card (the same one you use for cash withdrawals), you can recover it from the app.
4.- Fraud Detection:
Your TruBit Card has fraud detection algorithms to reduce cases considered high-risk when you make purchases on platforms deemed suspicious. These algorithms are generally defined by Mastercard and payment processing platforms; we cannot modify or override them.
5.- Incorrect CVV:
For users in Mexico, the CVV of the TruBit Virtual Card is dynamic. This does not affect subscriptions or recurring charges, but it may cause rejections for one-time purchases. Make sure to enter the correct CVV; remember that you can refresh it and get a new CVV if you wish.
6.- Inactive Card:
Your card may be frozen. Remember that you can unfreeze it from your app.
If you are using the TruBit Virtual Card or Physical, it is possible that you have replaced it with a new one and the data you are trying to use is already outdated.
7.- Monthly Purchase Limit Reached:
For Mexico the monthly limit is $200,000.00 MXN. You can spend up to $100,000.00 MXN per individual purchase. These limits are shared between the virtual and physical cards.
For Argentina: The monthly limit is $2.5 million ARS. You can spend up to $2 million ARS per individual purchase. These limits are shared between the virtual and physical cards.
8.- Transaction Not Allowed:
There are certain transactions that are not permitted due to regulations in your country of residence.
For example, if you are a resident of Argentina, the Central Bank has prohibited, since 10/31/2019, the use of cards issued in the country for purchasing foreign currency and crypto assets on trading platforms, gambling, investment accounts, among others. You can read more about this official regulation at this link: A6823.pdf (bcra.gob.ar).
